Colossal Cave Mountain Park

Located just 20 minutes from the center of Vail, Colossal Cave Mountain Park is a popular destination for those visiting and living in Arizona. Colossal Cave itself contains three and a half miles of mapped passageways. In addition to these caves, Colossal Cave Mountain Park also features the La Posta Quemada Ranch Museum, the Civilian Conservation Corps Museum, horseback riding trails, a butterfly garden, and facilities for picnicking and camping.

Saguaro National Park

Saguaro National Park is comprised of two separate districts, one of which lies 20 miles east of Tucson near Vail. Inside the eastern park, you’ll find large tracts of wilderness leading right up to the Rincon Mountains. The eastern district’s 8.3-mile loop road provides visitors with access to two public picnic areas and serves as a trailhead for much of the park’s hiking and horseback riding paths.

Charron Vineyards & Winery

Charron Vineyards & Winery is one of the oldest wineries in the state of Arizona. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the Santa Rita Mountains from the winery’s elevation of 4,200 feet. The Charron Vineyards’ Tasting Room is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Charron Vineyards also offers several picnic areas that are kid- and pet-friendly.
