See Tucson’s Sights with a Free Culture Pass
This article authored by: Catherine Hallberg
If you want to see some of our popular museums, parks or gardens, one cool way to do it is to check out a Culture Pass . These are tickets for 2 which are on a first-come, first-serve basis at many of Tucson’s libraries. They are good for up to 1 week after checkout.
You’ll get a receipt which is presented to the museum/cultural attraction’s admission desk for free entry. You may check out 1 Culture Pass per week per family. Only 2 passes per month are permitted.
Some of the places you can visit are:
The University of Arizona Museum of Art
Tohono Chul Park
Tucson Museum of Art
The Jewish History Museum
Arizona- Sonora Desert Museum
Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures
Museum of Contemporary Art Tucson
Culture Passes are also available for venues outside of Pima County such as:
Desert Botanical Garden
Phoenix Art Museum
Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art
Sedona Heritage Museum
Special events aren’t always included, so it’s best to check with the library about the one you want to see.
There are also Arts Performance Passes which allow 2 free tickets to a cultural event such as the Arizona Opera. These are only available at the Joel D Valdez Main Library.
It’s a great way to see some of Tucson’s best attractions without incurring an admission fee. Libraries which offer these passes are:
Joel D. Valdez Main Library
Joyner-Green Valley Library
Kirk-Bear Canyon Library
Miller-Golf Links Library
Woods Memorial Library
Wheeler Taft Abbett Sr Library
Enjoy Tucson and check out a book while you’re there!
