Search for Homes for Sale in Southeast Tucson
Southeast Tucson has grown in phases, with the first developments located south of Golf Links Road adjacent to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. Modest, single story homes were built in the 1970’s to accommodate the growth of the Base.
In the 1980’s and 1990’s Rita Ranch, a Master Planned Community was built which accommodated the growth of the Tucson Technology Park and provided housing for the growth of Davis-Monthan and Raytheon. Housing costs were initially kept very low to attract residents to this outlying community.
In the late 1990’s, a new concept in building communities was introduced with the development of Civano. The concept was to create a pedestrian-friendly community with tree-lined walkways, shops and parks. A goal (and requirement) was also set to significantly reduce resource consumption and adverse environmental impacts.
Today the area is thriving with two new shopping centers, three new home subdivisions and a very active real estate market. The Median Price of homes for sale in Southeast Tucson is about $200,000. Almost 25% of homes are listed for $160,000 or less, making it a very affordable Tucson destination. The majority of homes for sale in Rita Ranch are in the $160,000 to $300,000 range.
