Search for Homes for Sale in the Catalina Foothills (North Tucson)
When Tucson was first developed, the idea of building homes in the Catalina Mountains north of Tucson was considered a fool’s folly. In the early 1930’s John Murphey purchased large tracts of land in the Foothills and built homes with the assistance of famed architect Josias Joesler.
Murphey proved the sceptics wrong and today the Catalina Foothills is one of the most affluent communities in the US. Residents love the mountain views, art galleries, upscale boutiques and an excellent school system. Many of the homes are located in Gated Communities and several double as Golf Communities, including La Paloma, Ventana Canyon and Skyline Country Club.
The Median Price of homes for sale in the Catalina Foothills is about $600,000. There are a few homes listed for $300,000 or less but about 12% of the homes for sale in North Tucson exceed $1,000,000.
