chili-cookoff-reid-pk-2On Saturday, Rob & I attended the annual Chili Cook-Off hosted by the Tucson Firefighters. It’s a yearly fall event and a great place to check out a variety of chili concoctions.

Rob & I sampled, Beef & Bacon Chili, Smoked Pork Chili, Chicken Chili, Chili with beans and without beans. Fortunately, you can buy beverages as some of the recipes were mighty spicy.

Our local firefighters serve over 750 gallons (over 24000 servings) of chili, and attract more than 10,000 people to the music and food festival.

Some of the attractions included are live music, fire trucks, a kid’s zone and some beer booths for the adults.

The proceeds go to local families and children to provide clothing, food, basic necessities and toys throughout the holiday season through the Local 479 Adopt-A-Family program.

It was a fun way to spend an afternoon and support our firefighters. They sponsor several events every year, so check out their website. Maybe you can make the next one!  chili-cookoff-reid-pk-4
