New development on Tucson’s Eastside

New construction is booming in SE Tucson. Mattamy Homes is opening Saguaro Trails at Houghton and Drexel. Models will be available for viewing February 7, and reps will begin selling lots and taking orders for new homes. With 600 homes planned, this will be a massive subdivision. Expect more traffic on the already overburdened Houghton Road. Widening is taking place, but we’re hoping the City of Tucson steps up the pace before it becomes unmanageable.
Another project in the works is a KB Homes development near the Fred Enke Golf Course at Camino Seco and Irvington. Two phases are planned. Phase IA is set to break ground May 2019 with models ready for viewing January 2020. It’s located to the Wingate Blvd. and South of Linderbrook Dr. The initial phase is slated for 136 lots. Phase 1B will be to the North of Phase 1A with 91 lots approved. KB doesn’t have a firm start date for 1B, but most likely will begin after most of the lots are sold in the first phase. With a total of 227 lots in the first phases, this will be a sizeable community as well.
Phase 2 is located to the East of Wingate Blvd. and South of Linderbrook Dr, across the street from Fairway Groves at Wingate. No real dates have been set for this phase to begin but it could be 1 to 2 years down the road.
The SE and East areas of Tucson are real hot spots for development. Houghton Towne Center is continuing to add businesses and restaurants. Our newest strip mall at Colossal Cave and Mary Ann Cleveland is adding a Pilates Studio, dental office and Subway in addition to the nail salon, barber shop, Goodwill drop-off and, of course, the long-awaited Safeway.
Now is the time to consider purchasing a home in this booming area. Prices are still affordable and the mountain views spectacular. Come on down and take a look!!
