Annual Sewer Bill Recalculation

Did you know that every July your sewer bill is recalculated? Your annual bill is based off the water usage during the WQA (Winter Quarter Average) which is the months of December, January and February of the previous fiscal year. These months should the lowest usage for the year. If your average usage during those months isn’t your lowest 3 months, you have 60 days to submit an appeal. Use the online form at www.pima.gov/wastewaterreclamation .  You may also call 520-724-6609.

Another little-known fact is that if you are away from home more than a month, you are eligible for the sewer vacant rate which is only the administrative portion of your bill. You must apply in advance. Use the same website and phone number.

A friendly reminder: Wet wipes aren’t biodegradable and should never be flushed down the toilet. It can clog screens and pumps in your system.
